Happy Friday everyone,
What a busy week it has been! I have travelled to Townsville to present to members at the Dam Fine Rally, inspected potential CMCA Park sites and attended the official opening of our newest CMCA Park in Dalby, Queensland.
I'd like to congratulate the organisers of the Dam Fine Rally, led by Rally Manager Mick Stephenson, Tropical Coast Wanderers Acting President Joyce Press and the many dedicated Tropical Coast Wanderers chapter members and volunteers who worked tirelessly to deliver a fantastic event. This was the first Dam Fine Rally in four years, and it attracted an impressive 180 vehicles. The atmosphere throughout the rally was exceptional, with the enthusiasm, camaraderie and rally theme shining through. Everywhere I went, members spoke positively about the event and its success. Congratulations to everyone involved. It was a pleasure to be part of it, and I look forward to seeing the rally continue to grow in the years ahead.
While in Townsville, I also had the opportunity to meet with Mayor Nick Damatto to discuss the potential establishment of a CMCA Park in the region. The proposal was warmly received, and I look forward to progressing those discussions in the near future.
On Monday, I was joined by our Manager of Business & Development, Dan Shaw, for the official opening of CMCA RV Park Dalby. I genuinely believe this is the best-designed park in our network and a credit to Dan, who has spent the past seven months working closely with Western Downs Regional Council and contractors to bring the project to life. The finished result is outstanding and sets the benchmark for future CMCA Park developments across Australia.
Councillor Kaye McGuire, representing Western Downs Regional Council, officially opened the park and spoke about the importance of CMCA and the positive contribution our members make to regional communities. More than 60 people attended the ceremony, and that evening the park welcomed an impressive 27 RVs staying overnight - a fantastic result for a newly opened facility.
If your travels take you through southern Queensland, I highly recommend calling into Dalby. You'll find a wonderful new CMCA Park and a community renowned for its warm country hospitality.
As always, thank you for your continued support of CMCA. Together, we're continuing to build a stronger club, create more opportunities for our members and expand the network of destinations available for everyone to enjoy.
Safe travels
Richard
