It's been a fantastic start in Mareeba, with the Christmas in July Rally now in full swing. Members are enjoying the outstanding hospitality provided by our organisers, led by Rally Manager Jean Rowley, Far North Nomads President Milly Virtue, and the many dedicated volunteers whose hard work has made this event such a success.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to present to members on the future direction of CMCA and the initiatives we are pursuing to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of our club. A key topic was the proposed constitutional amendment that will transition CMCA into a true "people's club", allowing anyone with an interest in the RV lifestyle to become an equal member. The proposal has been extremely well received by those attending the rally and represents one of the most significant opportunities in our club's history. Eligible members will have the opportunity to vote on the constitutional amendment either online or in person at the Annual General Meeting in October. If supported, this initiative will position CMCA for continued growth and relevance for many years to come.
I also updated members on the excellent progress being made with CMCA Insurance. The response has been extremely encouraging, and we expect this to continue growing. If you haven't already, I encourage you to obtain a quote. Members who take out a CMCA Insurance policy will receive a $60 credit that can be used towards membership renewals, stays at our CMCA Parks, National Rally registrations, or purchases from the Club Shop. More importantly, you'll be supporting a service that has been developed specifically with the needs of our members in mind.
The remainder of the rally promises to be just as enjoyable, with outstanding entertainment, informative seminars, presentations and social events, all culminating in another memorable Christmas in July dinner.
If you've never experienced the Mareeba Christmas in July Rally, I can highly recommend adding it to your travel plans for next year, plus the climate is a huge bonus. It's a wonderful event, held in a beautiful part of Australia, and one that truly showcases the camaraderie and spirit of the CMCA community.
Safe travelling.
Richard
